I’m probably a little biased… but Peterson House is one of those venues I never get sick of photographing.
Every time I drive through the gates I get excited because I already know the day is going to be fun. The vineyards are gorgeous, the bubbles are flowing, and there’s always this buzz in the air that tells you it’s going to be a bloody good celebration.
It’s elegant without feeling intimidating. Beautiful without trying too hard.
And if you’ve chosen Peterson House for your wedding, I completely get why.
Cocktail towers > champagne towers (don’t come for me)
I don’t know who started the cocktail tower trend, but I’m fully on board.
Don’t get me wrong, champagne towers will always look classy.
But there’s something about a tower filled with colourful cocktails that just screams, “This is going to be a party.”
They’re fun, they’re a little bit different. They make incredible photos.
And they’re guaranteed to get everyone cheering before the dance floor even opens.
Honestly… if you’re looking for a way to kick-start the celebrations, a cocktail tower is hard to beat.
It’s the little things
You know what I notice after photographing a lot of weddings?
It’s rarely the big, flashy things that make a venue memorable. It’s how you’re looked after.
It’s the staff quietly making sure your grandparents have somewhere comfortable to sit. It’s your drinks appearing before you realise you’re thirsty. It’s someone fluffing your dress before you walk down the aisle without making a fuss about it.
At Peterson House, those little moments happen all day long.
There’s a genuine attention to detail that lets you switch off and actually enjoy your wedding. You don’t spend the day wondering what’s happening next because there’s a team behind the scenes making sure everything runs smoothly.
The tiramisu? I think about it more often than I’d like to admit.

The vineyards, enough said
Golden hour at Peterson House deserves its own paragraph.
The light slips through the vines, everything softens, and suddenly it feels like you’ve stepped into a movie.
It’s the best time for me to steal you for twenty minutes at sunset, wander through the vineyards, have a few laughs, and get you back to the party before your cocktail is even warm.
Those are usually the photos that end up framed on the wall.
The chapel gets me every time
I’m a sucker for a beautiful ceremony, and the chapel at Peterson House never disappoints.
There’s something about those timber beams, the soft natural light and the way everyone falls quiet just before the doors open. It doesn’t need over-the-top styling because it’s already full of character.
One of my favourite moments is that split second before you walk down the aisle. The nerves, the excitement, your person waiting at the end trying not to cry (and usually failing). It’s such a beautiful space for those emotions to unfold.
From a photographer’s perspective, it’s a dream. The natural light is gorgeous, the setting feels intimate, and your ceremony photos end up looking timeless rather than a trend.
And when the ceremony’s over? You step straight outside into the Hunter Valley vineyards with your favourite people ready to celebrate. No long drives between locations, no losing the flow of the day - just hugs, bubbles, confetti and the next chapter of your wedding unfolding naturally.
That’s one of the things I love most about Peterson House. Every part of the day feels connected, making it easy to stay present and simply enjoy it.
