If you've ever been to Enzo, you'll know pretty quickly that this isn't your standard Hunter Valley wedding venue.
There's the glass chapel. The vineyards. The sandstone. The chandeliers. The food. The ridiculously good service.
And then there's the atmosphere. You simply can’t beat it.
The chapel is pretty special
Let's start with the obvious one.
The Enzo chapel is one of those spaces that makes you stop for a second when you walk in.
Floor-to-ceiling glass, timber doors and vineyards stretching out behind you... it's pretty hard to beat.
And I love that you get all of that beautiful outdoor scenery without having to worry about whether the Hunter Valley has decided to throw four seasons at you in an afternoon.
It's light, it's spacious and it gives your ceremony that big wow moment without needing to go completely over the top with styling.
And then the doors open. Everyone turns around. Your person is standing at the end of the aisle.
And then there's the food...
I photograph a lot of weddings. Which means I get to eat a lot of wedding food.
And I can confidently say that food is one of the things Enzo does exceptionally well.
The team behind the food, led by Chef Pug, has created a menu that actually feels like something you'd want to eat at a really good restaurant — not just food that's been designed to feed a wedding crowd.
And your guests notice. Because while everyone might forget what colour your napkins were in five years' time, they'll absolutely remember if they had an incredible meal at your wedding.
It's the service for me
This is probably one of the biggest things I notice when I'm photographing weddings.
Good service makes such a difference to how a day feels.
At Enzo, there is a team constantly working behind the scenes to make sure things are happening when they're supposed to—and more importantly, making sure you don't have to think about any of it.
Your drinks appear. Your guests are looked after. The bridal party gets fed while we're off taking photos.
Things get moved, fixed, adjusted and sorted without anyone making a big song and dance about it.
And that's exactly what you want on your wedding day.
You shouldn't be wondering whether everyone has a drink. You should be drinking yours.
The photos? Yeah... we're spoilt for choice.
Enzo sits on 30 acres, so there is no shortage of places to disappear for photos.
Vineyards. Ironbark trees. Open paddocks. The chapel. The gardens.
And, of course, that gorgeous Hunter Valley light.
One of my favourite things is that we don't have to spend ages driving around to find a pretty spot.
We can wander. We can stop when the light is good. We can have a laugh.
We can get some beautiful portraits without turning your wedding day into a two-hour photoshoot.
More celebrating. Less travelling. That's a pretty good combination if you ask me.
And then the party starts...
There's something about an Enzo reception that feels like the switch gets flicked.
One minute everyone's sitting down enjoying dinner. Then the speeches happen.
The music starts. The drinks are flowing. And suddenly you've got a dance floor full of people who were absolutely not planning on dancing that much.
The reception space has those huge glass doors opening towards the vines, beautiful chandeliers and the sandstone fireplace, so even when you're inside, you never really lose that Hunter Valley feeling.
And honestly, that's where some of my favourite photos happen.
Not the perfectly posed ones. The ones where everyone's completely forgotten I'm there.
